Aging is Hard…
Perhaps you are experiencing health challenges or supporting a loved one as a caregiver. Or perhaps you are facing the loss of a spouse or support system as you grow older. Or maybe you are just dealing with the struggle of finding your purpose now that you are retired or no longer able to do activities that once filled your days. No matter what you are facing, getting older is not easy- but despite these challenges, life can still feel meaningful and enjoyable.
While some of these issues might not have the solution you want, we can still explore ways to articulate these losses or struggles and find resolution so that you can move forward in the direction you want. Just because you are older does not mean you are less important or valued. My experiences working with the aging population and the healthcare system bring a unique perspective that can help you address the unique challenges associated with aging.
Some common issues that I support in working with seniors include:
Grief and Loss
Debility and physical changes, including memory loss
Post-retirement struggles
Chronic and terminal illness and chronic pain
Specific experience with diagnoses including Alzheimer’s, Frontotemporal and Lewy Body Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, Cancer, Heart Disease, Pulmonary disease, Huntington’s Disease, MS, Kidney Disease and Stroke
Anxiety and depression
Caregivers stress
Isolation and loneliness
Adapting to change
Life resolution
“Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been.”
